Baughman family collection, 1834-1957.

Collection of records pertaining to the Baughman and related families of Union and Lincoln Parishes, La., reflecting interests in socio-economic matters and family history. The collection includes letters recommending Thomas Goodman as a dancing instructor (1834-1845); enlargement prints of sheet music for five antebellum and Civil War waltzes and marches; and issues of Louisiana and Kentucky newspapers containing articles on World War II, the Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in Ruston, La., the centennial of Farmerville and Union Parish, La., the destruction by Hurricane Audrey in Cameron Parish, La., and Mardi Gras in New Orleans, La. The collection also includes a cashbook (1885-1908) for income received from New Orleans real estate and a scrapbook (circa 1928) of pictures of popular film actresses.
